You outline what you’ve learned through the research, but you don’t give your reader a good explanation of where you began and how you’ve changed. What were your views and understandings before you began researching? How did those views change? Right now this reads like a list of things you learned, which is fine, but this will be more powerful if you include ways that your ideas and understandings have actually changed and evolved. To do this, all you need to do is give us a good description of your views and understandings prior to your research. has grown, changed, developed, or learned due to an experience. A reflection is an approach to show the audience that an experience that the writer encountered changed them or affected them in some way. Therefore, my choice of reflection as the preferred genre for this project is grounded on the need to share with my audience how doing the project has affected me as a person and a researcher as well. My choice of this genre is mainly because of its ease and freedom of expression. It is not restrictive when it comes to sharing one’s experiences and it is also one of the most effective ways of expressing my understanding of social justice and how I plan on advancing the concept in the society. Also, using the personal reflection enables me to allow the reader to relive my experiences and hence understand the field of social (in)justice just like Bryan Stevenson does in Just Mercy…. APA 1920 words
