This outline should have these same basic sections: 1) Introduction: Attention getter; state the purpose; preview the main points; transition into main point #1. This should be written out in paragraph form (word for word). 2) Body: This is the main content of the speech which should be presented in full sentence outline form. Remember, each main point and sub-points should be written in full sentences. An organizational pattern (from the course text) should be easily recognizable and information should be clearly divided into main points and appropriate supporting evidence, with transitions between each main point. Sources should be cited in parentheses to give proper credit for where information was obtained (e.g, Jones, 2016). Each sentence with information taken from an outside source should end with this type of citation. 3) Conclusion: Transition; restate the purpose; review the main points; clincher (end with something memorable). This should also be written in paragraph form, word for
word. 4) Bibliography: Using APA style, create a full sentence outline with a minimum 2 sources.  Please note that a full sentence outline means that ALL main and sub points are written as complete sentences. Make sure that if you have a 1 you have a 2 if you have an a you have a b and so on. This is called the principle of division & serves as a reminder that you cannot divide an idea into less than two parts. It is also a useful way to see how balanced each of your main points are. Last, be sure to document sources throughout the speech & include an APA reference section. Your introduction and conclusion should be very similar, covering the same information. Please make sure that you review the sample student outlines carefully.
