For this assignment, you get to explore current trends/practices in organization following your own interests. Choose one of the two activities (Book Analysis/Interview) below. Write the paper per the specifications below.
You should also create a 5-7 minute PowerPoint presentation that is an overview of your paper/findings. This presentation should be narrated with audio*, or narrated with written notes in the notes section of the slide.
Book Analysis:
Read any one of the suggested books, and prepare a five-page analysis of what was discussed in terms of a) current issues in the workplace b) your opinion on how the book treats these topics, and c) how it fits into your future career. Quotes from a minimum of two outside sources, including popular or scholarly sources (not Wikipedia), as well as the text, are required.

Interview:
This project requires that you in
terview an individual currently employed at an organization in the Philadelphia area. The goal of this paper is for you to (a) determine the types of questions that you would ask an organizational employee in order to Βtap intoΒ issues of communication and (b) to determine how the answers to your question can help explain organizational communication. In total, there are five stages in this project:
Decide whom you wish to interview, be able to justify this decision, and have your decision approved by me prior to the interview.
Contact this person and set up a time/place to complete the interview.
Decide what about organizational communication you are interested in better understanding, and create interview questions that address this issue.
Interview your subject.
Write a five-page paper in which you will a) explain why you chose this individual, b) discuss what you learned about organizational communication from this employee, c) link your findings back to the course readings and a minimum of two outside sources (not Wikipedia), and d) describe how/why this project helped you better understand the practical utility of organizational communication, and how you might apply this to your career.
All written work should be of professional quality, meaning that your writing style should be clear, well structured, grammatically correct, punctuated properly, and spell-checked. You will be required to turn in a bibliography with each assignment in which you use outside resources. All papers must be formatted according to APA style.
